Irresistible cheesy delicacy, more delicious than any savoury biscuits you’ve ever tasted!

I thought there was nothing yummier than cheese sticks and cheese cake before tasting this miracle that I bake every second day since then!

Ingredients:

• 200 ml milk,
• 1 ½ coffee spoon dry yeast
• 170 g butter,
• 1 egg
• ½ tsp salt,
• ½ tsp sugar,
• 350 g flour,
• 200 g cheese
• 1 egg yolk to brush top of dough

Method:

Stir dry yeast and sugar into lukewarm milk. Add the egg, salt, 50 g butter and the 350 g flour. Mix it well, and set the dough aside at room temperature for 40 to 50 minutes. Once the dough has risen, divide it into 7 pieces equal pieces. Grate cheese, add 120 g butter to it, and let it melt over low temperature, while stirring constantly. Grease a 20x25cm baking pan with butter, and flour it.

Roll out the first piece of dough, place it into the pan, and top it with cheese cream. Then roll out the next piece, place it on the cheese layer, and top it with the melted cheese again. Repeat until all 7 pieces of dough and all melted cheese is used up. Brush the top layer of dough with beaten egg yolk, cover with foil, and set it aside for 20 minutes. Bake in preheated oven at the temperature of 180° Celsius for 35 to 40 minutes.

Very good recipe, however, I replaced cheese cream with thick cheesy béchamel sauce for topping the dough layers and added grated cheese on top of that. I could make only 5 layers but otherwise it turned out fabulous!
